I would be grateful if you could advise me on this
difficult decision; a relative of mine who lives abroad,
has a daughter aged 3 and a son aged 2 both with Glanzman's
disease, a rare hereditary blood disorder, Both have had
frequent hospital admissions with bleeding, often required
blood transfusion. I have searched on this subject but
only 2 cases are reported having successful bone marrow
transplant as the only curative treatment. Having in mind
the possible complications of bone marrow transplant, do
you think such a treatment is justified for children who
are "well" until they have trauma, accidents or falls for
which hospital treatment is needed.
I would appreciate very much if you could comment on what
advice could be given to the parents of these children,
(Yes) or (no) for bone marrow transplant as a treatment for
their condition.
Thank you very much for your time
yaser
