One of the most challenging thing for a primary care physician is taking care of
patients in an ambulatory setting. it would be great to have an EBM book on the
most challenging problems, which cause frustation among physicians.
Some of the topics include:
Weight loss in elderly
fatigue
The dizzy patient.
recurrent UTI
Approach to a patient who has fibromyalgia
EB pain management
Patient who says I have multiple allergies.
abdominal pain with negative workup
shoulder pain ( exercise vs injection)
many more......
There seems to be lots of stuff on cholesterol, hypertension, angina. Thanks for
the NNT and RRR it surely has made dealing with these issues easier.
I sure hope we could pitch in and publish more on these and other outpatient
issues. If someone has information on a book covering these and other topics
please let me know.Gorroll's book is great, but it would be better if it had the
same approach as Panzer's book on "Diagnostic Strategiesfor common medical
problems".
