Raising the profile of the public library -
Thursday 1 October 1998
By their very nature, public libraries operate within a fiercely
'public' environment as a natural focus for causes and special interest
groups. This makes PR a valuable area for when time can be found more
easily than money. How can the public library exploit PR and promotion
to best effect to raise its profile?
Taking a structured approach to relationship marketing, this course is
designed for leaders in public libraries who want to refine and focus
their promotional and PR activity to get more from there ever
diminishing budgets. The course draws heavily on the practical
experience of people working within the public library sector, both at
home and in the USA.
How will this event help you?
This event will help you take stock of your current promotional and PR
activity, and benchmark against commercial and industry good practice.
You will be introduced to ways of targeting, planning and executing
promotional and PR programmes, as well as being exposed to plenty of new

By the end of the day:
