RELATIONS & PUBLICATIONS COORDINATOR
BOLOGNA, ITALY
The Bologna Center of the Johns Hopkins Paul H. Nitze School
of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) is seeking a
Coordinator of Alumni Affairs and Publications at their Center
in Bologna, Italy. The Center is the only full-time resident
graduate school of International Relations in Europe. As an
integral part of SAIS, the Center offers an interdisciplinary
program of studies in International Economics, Politics and
Contemporary History.
Reporting to the Director of the Center and/or Director of
Development, the Coordinator of the Alumni Affairs office is
responsible for coordinating the alumni affairs for the Center,
with more than 4,000 alumni worldwide; communicating with
Bologna Center Advisory Council members; organizing the annual
meeting; and coordinating all publications including all the
public relations efforts of the Center. Specific
responsibilities include managing the office budget; preparing
publications; writing and communicating with alumni;
communicating and coordinating with offices in Baltimore and
Washington and numerous outside contacts; and writing articles.
The position has one assistant.
Candidate should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent
(Master's degree preferred), as well as experience with alumni
affairs, desktop publishing knowledge and Quark express/Adobe
photoshop. Experience with public relations; excellent
interpersonal, writing, organizational skills; the ability to
handle several tasks concurrently; knowledge of budgeting basics
and bid processes; and the ability to be proactive in external
contacts are needed. Candidate must also be a native
English-speaker with knowledge of computer systems, including MS
Windows 95. A good knowledge of Italian and/or other languages
is desirable. Must be willing to travel.
