There are several good papers about virus infections & the onset of
chidhood diabetes.
Enterovirus infections such as coxsackie B and Echovirus 6 infections
have been identified.
High Mumps IgA antibodies have been found in newly diagnosed children
after mumps epidemics
but in non epidemic time periods diabetics have lower levels of mumps
antibodies than controls.
