I'm a geologist which has just joined the list.
I work at applications of structural geology to tunnel building and to
circulation of cold to low enthalpy waters in crystalline rocks. I belong to
an enterprise of geological studies, the SEA consulting.
Now I'm working on problems related with the study of recent stress field in
an area of the Alps where underground excavations are in project. Since some
faults cut quaternary deposits I suspect that actual tectonic activity is
present in this area. Furthermore a first kinematic analysis on fault slip
data suggest a distribution of the stress axes similar to that obtained from
in situ stress measurements in deep borehole. Anyway I would like to know
sometthing more about the stress distribution near the topographic surface
areas with high topographic relief, and about the influence of topography on
the in situ stress field.
Is there someone who can suggest me any work from bibliography about this
argumen?.
Thank you,goodbye
