Dear All
IMHO, my thoughts on this are:
- if lots of people used the list in this way, it would be a real pain
- it does indicate a lack of basic manners
- BUT in the latest case, it did prompt (and could go on to prompt) some
quite interesting discussion (I know from old that not everyone on this
list will share exactly the same thoughts over the church and power... ;-)
- AND if I was teaching the person, I suppose I would be impressed that
he had had the chutzpah to ask this list for essay material
- SO i would suggest that unless the climate changes drastically (ie we
suddenly get beseiged by enquiries of this kind) that George, our
glorious, kind, wonderful, and above all WISE leader, deals with cases on
an ad hoc basis...
[sorry for writing this in bullet points; I've been snowed under with
management reports this semester!]
cheers
