Potentially the most important 'issue' around? Anyone interested in working
against the MAI should join this new list. Apologies to those outside the
UK who get this, though I'm sure it will be good to know there is anti-MAI
activity here!
>This invitation is for individuals and groups thought to share our
>interest in defeating the proposed MAI - the Multilateral Agreement
>on Investments. Feel free to forward it to others who feel the same.
>
>By popular demand, we're launching a new e-mail list, uk-anti-maif,
>to assist UK campaigners against the MAI. It should complement the
>work of others like Chris Keene who are working on building more
>traditional off-line networks (snail mail, conferences etc) .
>
>The purpose is to distribute information and ideas about the
>MAI and the campaign against it in Britain. We hope that NGOs
>will want to take part in the list as well as individual campaigners.
>
>It can be used for anything relating to the campaign in the UK
>against the MAI: news of Parliamentary activity, NGO briefings, the
>OECD negotiations, meetings, rallies, trade union and local council
>views, requests for information, newspaper items, whatever. Each
>message posted to the list will be mailed on to all subscribers. The
>ground rules for posting to the list will be posted to you when you
>subscribe
>
>To subscribe, send an e-mail to
>[log in to unmask]
>with the message
>subscribe uk-anti-maif
