In the English coronation ceremony, i'm not so sure about Elizabeth II i
must admit, one of the king's barons was supposed to present the king with
new gloves in return for his leasehold, gloves also feature prominently in
the 13th and 14th century depictionsof English, and some French, kings.
This is one reason why I wonder if they have some legislative significance.
I will definately try to track down the Schwinekoeper text, though i
suspect i may have to go offshore - it doesn't strike me as something a new
zealand library would get - although there are always some surprises
i've been finding the references intriguing, thanks
