One also wonders about drunken women in medieval life. Did no-one ever bother to
perform the simple experiment that could have refuted Macrobius and Aristotle?
I know that reliance upon authority (sometimes to excess) was one of the
features of medieval thought, but this seems to be taking things a bit too far.
