There is a gentleman here in Ontario who has also done a facsimile; I
believe it's about 80% the size of the original. He's a French professor at
the University of Guelph and got started about 12 years ago when he visited
Bayeaux and purchased some kits for individual sections. Not satisfied, he
decided to stitch the whole thing--by himself. I've seen it--and it's quite
stunning. I believe it's currently being shown at a museum in London,
Ontario; I told him when I first met him that he should bring it to Kzoo
because folks would just flip--it stretched around an entire auditorium when
I saw it.
