Dear Daron.
I'm not an expert of Wine production and no more an expert of Old French,
but usually I can read it easily. The sentence "por ce que trop costa la
laine" means:
"To make up for the too expensive wool" or "Because the wool was too
expensive".
But unfortunately, I can't say why the wool could be used for (clothes,
sieve???).
