Nancy Warren, Department of English, University of Michigan. I am
interested in later medieval women's monasticism, and in particular my
work focuses on the intersection of the religious and the economic. I
have articles forthcoming on monasticism as an interpretive paradigm for
regulating women's conduct especially women's productivity--material,
maternal, and spiritual) outside the cloister and on Middle English
translations of the Benedictine Rule for women. I am also
interested in the Briggitine Order and the politics of female monasticism
in the fourteenth- and fifteenth-centuries.
