I am soliciting submissions for an academic internet site entitled,
MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE MIDDLE AGES. If you recall, we were engaged
some months back in a discussion which concerned prevalent
misconceptions about the Middle Ages. Julia Bolton Holloway suggested we
put together something resembling an FAQ site, and this is the result.
The site is meant to be of general interest and to serve as an
introduction to some of the more deleterious misconceptions.
If you or someone you know is interested in submitting a (maximum)
1500-word article on any aspect of the Middle Ages that you believe is
consistently misrepresented to students, please contact me at
<[log in to unmask]>. Each article should be accompanied by a
short list of (maximum ten) works for reference or further reading. You
are also welcome to include links to related sites. I've had to delay
opening the site for a variety of reasons, so submissions are not due
until 1 August 1998. The English Department of Loyola University Chicago
has graciously donated space on its server to house the site. --And
thank you all for your earlier interest and indulgence. I anticipate a
successful venture.
