Speaking as a nursing mother, I can say that it's not a "peculiar
phenomenon." When you nurse, especially a newborn, sometimes the milk
comes out quicker than the baby can suckle, and you leak. I think these
rocks probably represent places where the Holy Family rested on the flight
into Egypt and Mary's milk dripped onto the rock.
