I am bothered by these ladies. 11,000? It takes a long time to
count 11,000 of anything (ask any Librarian)
I would expect to find in a martyrology something like this
Idibus mensis (or whatever) Sae Ursulae & XI MM VV sociiarum
Eleven *millia*? or eleven *martyrum*?
I do not want to spoil a good story. But it seems to me just too
good...
That Princess Ursula (news to me she was British, but hooray)
should have eleven travelling companions (Special Branch, no doubt)
seems fair enough: very improper for a young lady (or even a lady)
to travel medievally with much less. But 11,000...
