Vacancies for Information Specialists: Sheffield Hallam University Learning
Centre
Salary: Lecturer/Senior Lecturer grade, up to ?28516
We have two vacancies for Information Specialists to join the Learning
Centre. This innovative department brings together a range of services to
support the University's programme of teaching and learning, research and
consultancy, covering library and information services, open access IT
provision, media production facilities and the University+s Learning and
Teaching Institute.
Information Specialists take a proactive approach in collaborating with
academic staff in the development of teaching programmes, stock selection,
information skills and information work with students. Candidates for
either post should have a degree, preferably in a relevant subject, and be
qualified librarians or information officers. An understanding of issues
arising from the integration of IT and information services, and of
contemporary issues in teaching and learning is essential.
Information Specialist: Cultural Studies
This post has a dual role of provision of information services to the
School of Cultural Studies, and for the management of services and staff at
the Psalter Lane Campus. Experience of working in academic libraries, and
of managing staff and other resources is essential, along with experience
of information sources in art and design, or film and media. Please quote

Information Specialist: Business, Management, and Financial Studies
This post has responsibility for the provision of information services to
the Sheffield Business School and the Schools of Business and Management,
and of Financial Studies and Law. This vacancy will cover the secondment
of the current postholder to a lecturing post, and will be for a period of
two years. Experience of working in the academic sector, team working, and
managing resources is essential, along with experience of information
sources in business and management, including financial information and
statistics.
