This innovative department brings together a range of services to support the University's programme of teaching and learning, research and consultancy, covering library and information services, open access IT provision, media production facilities and the University+s Learning and Teaching Institute. Information Specialists take a proactive approach in collaborating with academic staff in the development of teaching programmes, stock selection, information skills and information work with students. Candidates for either post should have a degree, preferably in a relevant subject, and be qualified librarians or information officers. An understanding of issues arising from the integration of IT and information services, and of contemporary issues in teaching and learning is essential. Information Specialist: Cultural Studies This post has a dual role of provision of information services to the School of Cultural Studies, and for the management of services and staff at the Psalter Lane Campus. Experience of working in academic libraries, and of managing staff and other resources is essential, along with experience of information sources in art and design, or film and media.
