Dear Ian
I have managed so far to have just two usernames and passwords that
cover all our major databases with a couple of minor adjustments. One is
the Athens services and the other is the first web service we subscribed
to. The later has been slightly modified to suit individual suppliers.
We put the modifications on the LRC home page next to the Database link.
eg use ALPHA username and but add a 1 to the end of the password. This
has so far worked quite well.
You can see what I mean by visiting URL
http://www.glam.ac.uk/lrc/online.asp
Students so far seem to be able to cope well with 2 passwords and the
odd alteration.

Go to the people
Learn from them
Love them
Start with what they know
Build on what they have
But the best of leaders
When their task is accomplished
When their work is done
The people will remark:
"We have done it ourselves."
