re: Seminar on Reconciling Economic Growth and the Environment
The Sustainable Economy Unit of Forum for the Future, in collaboration
with EarthScan Publications and INSEAD are holding a sustainable
development seminar on 'Reconciling Economic Growth and the Environment'
at 2.30pm on Monday 23rd November at Chatham House, St James's Square,
London SW1 4LE.
The keynote speaker will be the Minister of State for the Environment, The
Rt Hon Michael Meacher MP, who is responsible for the Government's
revision of its predecessor's Sustainable Development Strategy, which will
be published next year. Others speakers will be Professor Robert Ayres,
Sandoz Professor of Management and the Environment, Professor of Economics
at the European Business School, INSEAD, who will talk about his new book
Turning Point: The End of the Growth Paradigm, and Professor Dennis
Anderson, former Chief Economist at Shell, an adviser to the World Bank
and Professorial Research Fellow at Imperial College Centre for
Environmental Technology. Several other experts in the area will lead the
discussion following the presentations.
