There's no doubt that being free (in $) is one attraction of Linux.
But to suggest this is the only attraction is _way_ off base. Linux
is a solid, professional OS equal to any UN*X OS I've used, and much
better that the cr*p Microsoft offers (95 or NT). I've spent lots
on commercial software for Linux, and if Linux cost $ I'd buy it too
(though thankfully I don't ;)
