The Second Annual High Performance Fortran User Group (`HUG') meeting
will be held on 25 - 26 June 1998 at the Fundacao Dr. Antonio Cupertino
de Miranda in Porto, Portugal. This successor meeting to the 1997 HUG
meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, provides an opportunity for users
of HPF to meet each other, share ideas and experiences, and obtain
up-to-date information on current HPF implementations and future plans.

This meeting will be held in conjunction with VECPAR'98, a
multidisciplinary conference covering a range of topics in parallel
and distributed computing, which will take place on 21 - 23 June at
the same venue. An HPF tutorial will be offered on 20 June as part
of the VECPAR tutorial program. On the day between the VECPAR and HUG
meetings, 24 June, Porto holds its annual festival, and attendees will
be free to participate in the festivities.

The HUG meeting will include:

    * contributed talks
    * presentation of the results of the Esprit PHAROS project
           (migration of industrial F77 codes to HPF)
    * invited presentations by HPF users & technology providers
    * a panel discussion

There may also be a poster session and demonstrations.

        -- interoperability of HPF with other languages

Abstracts may contain up to 300 words, plus the title and authors'
names and addresses. They should be in standard HTML 2.0 format and
may contain links to relevant further information or documentation if
this is available. Alternatively, and less desirably, abstracts may
be submitted in plain text, in which case we will convert the selected
ones to HTML.
