DEC has currently at least two advantages over Absoft.
DVF has interface modules for accessing the Win32 API and Open GL.
If Absoft doesn't offer these, this could make programming more
cumbsersome if accessing tha API and Open GL is a must.
Also, DEC offers the Module Wizard, a code generator utility for
accessing COM/OLE objects. We are using this feature regularly
in our projects. Currently, only DEC offers this possibility.
Finally, DEC implements most of the features of the Fortran 95 standard.
A full F95 could therefore be expected from DEC much sooner than Absoft.
These factors must be taken in consideration when selecting a compiler.
