Dear All,
Just to let you know we had a grand afternoon, in the park. The sun shone
which in London this summer is a rarity. The Royal Albert Memorial is
almost exposed after it's two year restoration.. Only albert himself is
still shroaded by a large blue cover.. At the visitors centre there is a
public consultation going on over how Princess Diana of Wales be
comemorated. Front running idea being a large garden laid out in
Kensington Place that has drawn opposition from the locals who fear
traffic choas...
The authorites had set out a large number of crowd control barriers to
mind the expected queue to the visitors centre . When we where there there
was only a rather bored looking security guard and no queue at all..
After an afternoon of interesting talk ranging over everything from TED
HUGHES and changing perseptions of him to the latest from Ganymead we went
over to the Albert Hall and the Prom concert #3 entry to listen to Sir
Simon Rattle conducting the Birmingham Symphony in a performance of KING
ROGER an opera about the Norma King of Sicily...
A great Day enjoyed by the 20 or so who turned up..
