I would tell Peter not to worry about the joculations of the Postmoderns.
To me their poetry has always been `poetry written by non-poets'.
When they see a real poet in their midst, like Macsweeney, they dont
know how to cope with him. Everybody should read JHP once. Once.
What I have always admired about them is their conversation which
is like eavesdropping on the Great Game. From pURL it appears that
their conversation runs to considerably greater lengths than the
poems they discuss. I hope they havent wormed their way into too
many seats of academic power to have an adverse effect on coming
generations. This Derrida business seems quite ridiculous.
