We have had a similar case where CK levels were persistently elevated over
a period of weeks - not a
macro CK as Vitros and Axsym CK-MB assay gave similar results. Of interest
was that the troponin-T was also elevated (can not recall level) while
troponin-I was below limit of detection.
No one does aldolase in our neck of the woods, however, the literature
(some of it <5years old) would suggest that aldolase is useful in cases of
myopathy where the CK is not elevated. We no longer do
CK isoenzymes as we rely on Axsym, Vitros and total CK levels to interpret
results.
