----- We moved over a few weeks ago - we downloaded the software OK with
FTP. But the new version just would not compile and then the old version
would not restore from tape. So not quite as smooth as others, though III
sorted it all out for us promptly.
We too are having problems with default pickup location for holds. This
has always been set to item location for both staff and public holds but
since the new release staff holds are giving the patron home location as
the default pickup location for holds - we have this logged. As I
understood it, the only change in this area was to be able to have the
option for title-level holds to have pickup location of the item so this
is presumably an unwelcome bug.
The new version of electronic reserves, which was the main thing we were
waiting for, is not totally satisfactory - the online display is now 300
dpi which is much better, with zoom features and so on, and it is all
written in Java (which might cause some people problems). But the new
release was also supposed to include ability to use local Windows printing
setup rather than a dedicated machine located somewhere and this is not
working for us with either Netscape or Internet Explorer. We have this
logged as well.
We too are not very happy with the new ability to recall reserve items
because it is so half-baked.

Durham.
