Is it just me, or is the land of the letters on the hill preparing for the
new millennium by pairing up flicks in anticipation of a flooding (or
diluting perhaps) of new cinematic offerings?

I'm sure that there are many more pairings that I have not included. My
point is that where in the past Hollywood might have allowed for more lag
time between the releasing of movies with similar subject matter, plots, and
characters they are now wasting no time in re-exploiting these audiences.
What is the cause of their more explicit and aggressive tactics? Are the
distributors/production companies worried that they aren't going to get an
equal share of the market? What do these pairings say about their audiences?
Do these target audiences have short term memory? Or are viewers that hungry
for more? From what I can tell Hollywood has lost all forms of tact. Then
again maybe Hollywood never had it in the first place...
