OK, you want to replace measurement of TIBC with the simpler (and more
specific!) method transferrin, but you want to report it as a TIBC value.
In my opinion it should be more honest to report the transferrin value
directly and not masquerade it to be TIBC. So why not simply measure
and report transferrin instead of TIBC?
