Dear Listmembers
At the moment a group of my students are working on a production of
Merbury's "Marriage of Wit and Wisdom". This afternoon a simple question
left me stumped: what kind of clothes would ordinary parish clergy have worn
in public around 1579?
I've cross posted this to several lists so apologies in advance if people
get two or three copies.
Hope somebody out there can help
Thanks

Isn't it usually, till the 15th c., a "dalmatique" for the mass and special
events?
