Dear All:
I am a resident this semester at the Institute for Ecumenical and
Cultural Research at St. John's College (and Abbey, in Minnesota). In
celebration of their thirtieth anniversary, the Institute is offering an
essay contest with 12 $1000 prizes. The contest, entitled "Fresh
Voices," is open to "anyone in North America currently enrolled in a
program of study leading to a post-baccalaureate degree." The essay is
supposed to be a first person reflection of 2500-3500 words in response
to one of four questions having to do with Christian identity and unity
in a culturally diverse world; deadline is March 2, 1998. The details
(including the questions) are on the web at:
http://www.csbsju.edu/iecr (click on "Fresh Voices").
Please pass this information on to any students you think might be
interested in this project. For other information or to have brochures
sent to your department, write [log in to unmask]
I do hope a medievalist or two could win based on the wisdom of our
field!
