Yet another patron saint of lawyers, along with the other St. Ivo
(the Breton), commemmorated just a few days ago, St. Raymond of Penyafort (7
Jan.; formerly 23 Jan.), and St. Thomas More (22 June; formerly 9 July).
Does anyone know of any others? Four patron saints for one occupational
group seems quite a lot. Perhaps the Church in Its institutional wisdom may
think that lawyers need all the prayers and other saintly assistance they
can get.
