Dear all,
I've been a silent member of the list for the past few weeks and
would like to consult your collective expertise on a topic which
forms part of my research on the Observant Franciscans
in fifteenth century Ireland. The Observants were very important as
preachers and confessors and I wonder if anyone could recommend any
this aspect of their ministry in the fifteenth and early sixteenth
ceturies?
I have seen Larissa Taylor's soldiers of Christ. I'm particularly
interested in anything on confessors manuals; I've seen Leonard Boyle's
1974 article on John of Fribourg and have consulted Michaud Quantin, is
there anything else? I am very much a novice in this area so even the
most basic advice would be appreciated.
thanks
Colman O'Clabaigh, osb.
