* Giovanni da Capistrano (1456)
- with Bernardino da Siena, the most famous preacher of his
day; preached throughout Italy and (with an interpreter)
eastern Europe
Does anyone know of a RECENT scholarly study of this remarkable Franciscan?
As a leader of the Observance, crusader against the Turks (at the defence
of Belgrade), anti-Hussite propagandist, 'charismatic' popular preacher,
and name-sake (in Spanish dress) of a California town--Capistrano deserves
more than the rather aged studies of him that I've read, mostly in Italian
and German.
