I am currently putting together a biography of some of the English Mercian so
called Saints. Two I need help with are:
St. Modwenna
Associated with Burton on Trent
St. Hardulph
Believed to be a hermit at Breedon on the Hill
They may be connected.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

There is a recent article by Rob Bartlett about Modwenna. I can't offhand
remember where but you could try writing to him (Professor R. Bartlett,
Department of Mediaeval History, University of St Andrews, St Andrews KY16).
For Hardulph, the best starting point is probably the collection of essays
edited by Ann Dornier, Mercian Studies (Leicester, 1977).
