Hello,
On Monday 24th November, Mailbase will be undertaking some housekeeping.
This is a repeat of the sucessful 'spring clean' which was carried out in
January of this year.
An individual message will be sent to everyone who uses the Mailbase
service, giving details of list membership, how to leave a Mailbase list
and information about the Mailbase web. By carrying out this exercise, we
hope to help list members and identify addresses which are no longer
valid.
We will be processing and analysing the error reports we receive, but as
list-owners know, error messages are not standard and often do not contain
the address to which the message was originally sent. This makes
automatic detection of invalid addresses difficult. However, we hope to
identify up to 50% of the addresses which fail. We will repeat delivery
to these problem addresses, and if delivery fails repeatedly the address
will be removed from the Mailbase system.
We hope list owners will find this useful. If you have any queries, please
contact the Mailbase helpline at:
