<<At times, though by no means always, it seems to me that what goes on in
and around this list is strictly for initiates only>> Nick Kearney
<<Parts of this list never cease to amaze me, though seldom for the reasons
I had hoped.>>Andy Brown
How can one respond to such statements? There is nothing specific but there
is a supercilous, sort of prattle on earthlings tone, to the latter.
I am not interested in writing for or reading words from initiates. There
are too few people speaking here but it is open to and up to the others to
join in. I am pleased, for instance, to see Alaric join in.
And the other matter. I feel constrained but think I can say this. To be
accused of theft is more than a "run-in". To say that is too trivialise the
matter and pretend that it is less than it is. The best thing to do with
such an accusation is to bring light upon it, that is what I did after
thinking about it for some time, and to call that a _trial_ is
disingenuous. Having taken the step of making the matter public, I shall
report whatever is said back in reply to my letter...
Humour is important. Courtesy is important. It is also important to speak
of things which are themselves important; and it is essential not be
silenced by unstated rules of what may or may not be said.
Unsubstantiated judgments are being made here, both fairly humourlessly.
