I'd love to know the Turley citations-- the issue of Franciscan poverty
is of great interest to me. I did a very long essay as a grad student on a
work of Hervaeus Natalis which delt w/the issue of papal infallability
/inerrancy but was also directed at the problems of Franciscan poverty
and, more generally, at political theory. The course for which I wrote
this paper was given by John Hine Mundy aand aside from any intrinsic
interest the course had, I became hooked on issues of political
theology/philosophy/ecclesiology. It also pained me greatly to heve to
have come out in opposition to one of my heroes-- Brian Tierney-- but
"c'est la vie" that's the way the my research broke on old Harvey
Christmas-- one day I'd like to publish a version of my paper. In any
case, the pontificate of J XII is facinating-- are ther any grad students
out there hungry for a topic? I enjoyed the posts on this subject.
