Forgive us for asking. Sister Anna Maria Reynolds, C.P., in Ireland and I as
a Hermit in Italy would be so grateful if someone has at hand a copy of the
volume on the Julian Centenary Celebrations in Norwich, which contains her
paper `Homeliness and Courtesy in the Revelations', the volume being edited
by Valerie Lagorio. Sister Anna Maria has no copy herself. I am hoping to
put all her fine essays on our forthcoming Julian Website. Her `Leeds
Studies in English' essay is superb. In case this information has been lost
in the mists of time - and bomb dust - Sister Anna Maria Reynolds edited the
manuscripts of Julian of Norwich for her University of Leeds theses in 1947,
1956, most meticulously, more accurately even than what is now in print, and
she did it working with microfilms and a microscope a word at a time when
the manuscripts were underground, buried from the bombing. We are redoing
the edition together (plus giving a facing page translation), working
directly from the manuscripts as well as from microfilm and presenting the
texts in camera-ready copy that replicates their manuscripts' layouts. The
work is almost finished.
