In Jan Van Eyck's *Arnolfini Portrait* another example of an "opened" rosary
can be seen hanging next to the mirror. I have not an explanation but in
"the South" (I mean Italy, Spain) by the very same years I only was able to
find the nowadays "closed" rosaries. Any suggestion?
