Loyola University, Chicago, invites applications for a possible
tenure-track position in Medieval Theology, with a special emphasis on
12th to 14th century scholastic theology. The position would begin in
August, 1997. The applicant must have completed all PhD requirements by
the time of appointment. Undergraduate teaching experience and
publications are preferable. The responsibilities for the successful
candidate will include teaching five to six sections during the academic
year at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, a strong and lively
program of scholarship, normal academic advising and committee work. The
candidate should be knowledgeable about Roman Catholic theological
traditions and be supportive of the ideals of Jesuit, Catholic higher
education. The anticipated appointment will be at the Assistant level,
but applications for other levels may be considered.
Applications should include a letter of intention, a current C.V., three
letters of recommendation and a representative writing sample
(dissertation chapter or published article) of no more than 20 pages.
