One of the quickest canonizations was that of Anthony of Padua: he died
on 13 June 1231 and was canonized during May of the following year--less
than 1 year.
Context must surely have to do with enormous civic energy in the city of
Padua at the time: within something like 30 years, they built city walls,
built the Palazzo della Ragione (a huge one-room city hall), and started a
university, as well as getting their very own saint.
