dear frances
it was great to see you in london [and thinking about it, i shall
doubtless be seeing you in leeds before you read this anyway ...]
to subscribe to medieval-religion, send a message to [log in to unmask]
where the message simply reads "subscribe medieval-religion frances
andrews" and nothing else [without the quotation marks]; if this doesn't
work, email the listowner George Ferzoco at [log in to unmask]
and ask him to put you on.
i've added a very long list of other discussion groups etc on the end of
this message; it's quite old, and some may no longer be active ...
love
john

To: Multiple recipients of list ANSAX-L <[log in to unmask]>
I promised some last week that I would post my full lit of literary
lists, so here it is. I apologize to those who have seen this on Medtextl
for the repetition. Oh, I've only just discovered the existance of the
Canlit-l list (Canadian Literature), but apparently the address I have
doesn't work. Does anyone know the right one.

A Directory of E-Mail Services

Dept. of English, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada
Much of the information below comes from Kovacs List of Scholarly
Electronic Conferences.
If you have a problem with some of the addresses, let me know, or you can
check Kovacs. See the end of this list to learn how to do that.
NOTE: information about WWW services is very scanty. I would appreciate
hearing about more places. The Labyrinth service is a central site for
numerous other services, some not medieval.
The addresses below have two parts: [log in to unmask]
To subscribe you generally do this: replace LISTNAME with "listserv" and
send a message to that address: "listserv@address". Leave the subject
line blank and type in the message: "subscribe LISTNAME Your Name".
Some lists use a different subscription program than Listserv. Some of
these are Listserver, Mailbase, Majordomo, Comserve, etc. I have marked
these lists with an * and put the name of the program at the end of the
entry. Generally, you do the same as above, but replace Listserv with
whatever name the program uses.
IMPORTANT: I see that I may have got some of the "mailserve" addresses
wrong. In some cases you should use "mailserv" in the subscription
address instead of "mailserve". I will try to correct these, and I
apologize for any inconvenience.
Some lists require you to send a letter to the owners. I have marked
these as well. All the xxx-request lists work this way as well.

Using Kovacs. The Kovacs list of Scholarly Electronic Conferences is
available on a number of Gopher sites. I will give a guide to the one at
the University of Saskatchewan.
Gopher to the University of Saskatchewan:
gopher gopher.usask.ca
or for Web people: gopher://gopher.usask.ca
Go to the World Wide Information Menu (#10) and then the Directory of
Scholarly Electronic Conferences Menu (#7).
Read the Read me if you want, then select:
1. Line 2 if you want to search for a specific list name.
2. Lines 3ff, if you want to examine the lists in a particular subject
area.
Good luck.
