I've been lurking on medieval-religion for a while now, and this seems
like a good time to introduce myself--I'm an associate editor (copy
editing and medieval acquisitions) for the University of Illinois Press,
with a doctorate in Old English lit. from Illinois and a continuing
interest in OE translations of the Psalms and other liturgical texts.
I also attended a Roman Catholic girls' boarding school (St. Mary's
Academy, no less)--and I can very well imagine being martyred by
singing "Salve Regina" (though it probably be a great martyrdom to
hear _me_ sing it)! Thank you, George, for the day-brightener!
