I signed up a bit ago, but never properly introduced myself. My doctorate
is in medieval Italian literature (specifically, I worked on the ms
transmission of Marco Polo's Travels), but that seems to have relatively
little bearing on current activities. I'm working on a catalogue of the
Plimpton collection of medieval and renaissance manuscripts held by
Columbia University. And thank goodness the term is just over: Carmela
Franklin (Classics Dept.) and I just team-taught a graduate class in Latin
Paleography, there were 21 students (way too many), but it was a wonderful
way for us both to learn more, too.
And if anyone out there has worked on any Plimpton mss, I'd be most
grateful to hear about studies both printed and in progress!
