Frederik Pedersen has tried sending this to the list, but there are some
Highland gremlins at work, so I'm forwarding it on his behalf.
If any of you should ever encounter problems in posting to the list,
please let me know; thanks!

Dear Kathy,
David Smith's Email address is [log in to unmask] He is still at
the Borthwick. It will be a very good idea to contact him well ahead of
the time you plan to be in York: When I last inquired about the fourteenth
century Bishops' registers I was told that they were in need of repair and
that the repairs would take some five to six weeks to perform. I did not
go to York on that occasion, so I presume that the situation is still the
same. Good luck with your fund-raising. I, for one, will be very
interersted in hearing the results of your investigation.

will do so during my 2nd semester sabbatical in England. However, I'm
currently working in New Zealand and I'm applying for a research grant,
primarily to obtain microfilm, which must be completed by the end of May ....
