Thanks for the note. It's an interesting case, but your Jesuits
on the walls seem to be "cleansing" the conflict more than saving souls,
aren't they? It's similar to the story of Caedwalla and the princes, but not
really a close match. Can anyone think of any closer comparisons? Are there
any sainted judges, inquisitors, crusaders, monarchs, or soldiers who
converted condemned prisoners before they killed them or had them killed?
I haven't had any luck finding parallels, but my knowledge of
hagiography of the later Middle Ages is somewhat limited.
