Design and Culture: Emerging Scholars Workshop 2024
Applications are now open for the 2024 session of the Emerging Scholars
Workshop.
The Emerging Scholars Workshop is launching a call for unpublished authors
looking for mentorship in getting their design related research published.
The Emerging Scholars Workshop is an initiative of the Design and
Culture journal
that supports the work of scholars and practitioners who are seeking
assistance and camaraderie in developing their work for publication in the
journal. We encourage the submission of rigorously researched papers that
show how design is deeply engaged with socio-political and cultural issues.
Besides scholarly papers and reviews, we also encourage the submission of
visual essays, statements of pedagogy, and statements of practice. Using a
collaborative workshop format, the Workshop provides support to authors in
the form of peer-to-peer discussions, scholarly resources, and editorial
assistance.
We encourage applications from women; people with disabilities; people from
culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds; Black, Indigenous and
People of Color (BIPOC); and LGBTQIA+ people.
