Organized in partnership with the Landless Rural Workers' Movement (MST),
Federal University of Ceará (UFC), and Federal University of Cariri (UFCA),
the IV Colloquium on Design and Art Research will bring together designers,
artists, and social activists. The focus will be on fostering discussions
about the actions of activists and social movements—their dynamics,
potentialities, and controversies—in interaction with art and design. We
will explore concrete political practices and processes of visibility and
invisibility that operate in different sociability contexts, whether urban
or non-urban. This includes how the actions of social movements and
activists become understandable or are actively ignored, involving debates
in the fields of art and design.
