Dear Mailbase,
I would like to know if any trusts have any protocols in place for specialist tests if they need to be rejected?
For instance, are there any tests if rejected for wrong sample type or past a stability timeframe that you would let clinicians know by telephone in addition to a comment on LIMS? Or do you have any other practices?
We have an ad-hoc list of tests which we call out and were looking at doing this systematically. This ad-hoc list includes mainly TDM's and paediatric endocrine / inborn errors tests.
We have been discussing this in our laboratory, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Best wishes,
Rebecca
